So I decided to go to the “The Cloud as the New Middleware Platform” on Wednesday, “Evolving Java” on Thursday and “Architectures You’ve Always Wondered About” on Friday. Of course it’s not a solid plan and I’ll sit in on other talks if the speaker or topic sounds more interesting.
It’s interesting that the new buzzwords sound much cooler. The Cloud v/s SOA — Cloud’s the winner (flawless victory!) and it might be a fatality at that. But perhaps it just isn’t purely a tech-oriented term so they decided that it shouldn’t sound too boring. I really hope that there is some substance behind “cloud computing”, so far it looks like just a fancy name for mass virtualization.
