Ultralightweight

EJB 3.x are ultralightweight — OMG! What’s next? Weightless? Antigravity frameworks? And I thought “Plain Old Java Object” was funny :)

I’m glad about your post. EJB 3.X just work – but no one cares, because of “heavyweightness”. So renaming them to “ultraweightness” might help :-). I like your term “Antigravity” better, than “ultraweightness”. I should rename the title of my post!

So let’s talk about antigravitar EJBs! POJOs are funny, but I like POPOs even more (plain old persistent objects) – I heard this term somewhere,

    thanks,

EJB 3.0 are not lightweight. Spring isn’t lightweight. The only glue framework that can claim any kind of lightweightness in my eyes is Guice. And the idiotic buzzwords are starting to tire me — can’t we just do some decent work instead of fighting which framework is the bestest? This is a very destructive force for the Java community.

    Jevgeni,

exactly – buzzwords doesn’t matter – it should just work in the real world. Btw. Guice is really great,
